Exploring perinatal factors on vertical microbiota transmission : modulation of early life gut microbiota to prevent long-term effects

The project target C-section delivered newborns. It will analyse the role of microbiota in the higher risk of this population to Allergy and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), mainly Crohn Disease (CD), using murine models and define new preventive strategies based on microbiota modulation by nutritional approaches (mainly probiotics).

The Biostime Institute for Nutrition and Care (BINC) was proud to participate in the 2024 Journées Francophones de Nutrition (JFN) in Strasbourg, reinforcing its commitment to advancing research in pediatric nutrition. As part of this esteemed event, the BINC team hosted an engaging symposium on December 4th, focusing on the theme: “Innovative Bioactives in Pediatric Nutrition: Supporting Immune System Development.”

BINC (Biostime Institute for Nutrition and Care) was thrilled to participate in this year's ESPGHAN congress, a hub of groundbreaking research, innovative treatments, and dynamic knowledge exchange. From May 15-18, over 5,600 participants from 104 countries gathered in Milan and online to explore the latest advancements in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition.
